Brief Summary
|
This study is an observational, cross sectional investigation conducted using convenient sampling. A total of 60 male football players aged 18 to 25 years, with a minimum of two years of playing experience, are recruited based on predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria. All eligible participants receive a clear explanation of the study procedures, and written informed consent is obtained prior to participation. Baseline demographic and sports related information including age, years of playing experience, dominant foot, playing position, and injury history is collected for each participant. Cognitive function is assessed using the Trail Making Test, in which participants connect numbers and alternating numbers and letters in sequence as quickly as possible; completion time is recorded to evaluate visual attention, processing speed, and cognitive flexibility. Following the cognitive assessment, participants undergo position specific football skill tests to assess on field performance. Goalkeepers perform the Wall Toss Test to evaluate hand eye coordination and reaction ability. Defenders complete the Vertical Jump Test to measure lower limb explosive power. Midfielders undergo the Harvard Step Test to assess aerobic endurance and cardiovascular fitness. Forwards perform the 30 meter sprint test to evaluate speed and acceleration. The outcomes of these tests are used to analyze the relationship between cognitive function and position specific sport skills among football players. |
