Brief Summary
|
This study aims to estimate the prevalence of multimorbidity and polypharmacy among the geriatric population in a rural area of Delhi. It is a community based cross sectional observational study conducted in the field practice area of Rural Health Training Centre Barwala under the Department of Community Medicine Maulana Azad Medical College New Delhi. Elderly individuals aged 60 years and above residing in the area for at least six months will be included. Data will be collected using a pre designed structured questionnaire along with review of prescriptions and medical records. The primary outcome will be the proportion of multimorbidity among the study subjects. Secondary outcomes will include the proportion of polypharmacy and the co-occurrence of multimorbidity and polypharmacy.
