Intervention  Kinesio-Taping and Weight bearing exercises  Kinesio-Taping: Kase created Kinesio-taping with a proprietary blend of cotton and nylon. It’s designed to mimic the skin’s elasticity so you can use your full range of motion. The tape’s medical-grade adhesive is also water- resistant and strong enough to stay on for three to five days, even while you work out or take showers. When the tape is applied to your body, it recoils slightly, gently lifting your skin. It is believed that this helps to create a microscopic space between your skin and the tissues underneath it. Weight bearing exercises: The exercises that force the body to work against gravity are called weight-bearing exercises. These exercises strengthen bones and muscles and improve balance and posture. These exercises work directly on the leg bones, hips, and lower spine to slow age-associated mineral loss. Weight-bearing exercises are good for everyone.  
Comparator Agent  Conventional Therapy  In conventional therapy Patient would be instructed to do some movement with the assistance of therapist on the affected limb. Movements: 1. move the shoulder up and down, 2. spread the shoulder in-out, 3. Rotate the shoulder, 4. Elbow in-out, 4. Tied up-down the wrist, 5. Spread fingers, 6. Hold brush to comb the hair, 7. Catch the glass of water and pretend to drink.

Details  Medically stable patients of either gender aged between 30 and 65 years will be included in the study. Participants should have a confirmed diagnosis of stroke involving the middle cerebral artery and should be in the sub-acute stage, with a duration of stroke ranging from 1 month to 6 months. Only patients diagnosed with hemiplegic shoulder pain of more than one month duration will be recruited. Pain intensity should not exceed 7 on the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS). Pain should be reproducible and affected by shoulder movement as well as manual palpation of the affected shoulder, and repositioning of the shoulder joint should provide partial relief of pain. Participants must be able to understand instructions and communicate effectively to ensure proper assessment and cooperation during the intervention and outcome measurements. 
 
ExclusionCriteria 
Details  Patient should not have history of serious conditions like fracture of the affected shoulder or any surgeries on the affected limb. They should not have any sever skin allergy, open wound and other skin conditions. also not be suffering from any muscular structure and systemic disease.

Brief Summary  
This study aims to evaluate the efficacy of Kinesio-taping combined with weight-bearing exercises on upper extremity pain and functional outcomes in adults with hemiplegic shoulder pain following stroke. Hemiplegic shoulder pain is a common and disabling post-stroke complication that significantly interferes with activities of daily living, sleep, and upper limb rehabilitation. Despite conventional physiotherapy approaches, many patients continue to experience persistent pain and limited functional recovery. Kinesio-taping is proposed to provide neuromuscular facilitation, proprioceptive input, and pain reduction, while weight-bearing exercises enhance joint stability, muscle co-contraction, and motor control.
The study follows an experimental design and will be conducted in hospitals within the Delhi NCR region. A total of 35 post-stroke patients with hemiplegic shoulder pain will be recruited using convenience sampling. Participants aged 30–65 years, with acute stroke duration of 1–6 months and middle cerebral artery infarct, will be included. Subjects will be divided into an experimental group receiving Kinesio-taping with weight-bearing exercises and a control group receiving placebo taping with conventional therapy.
Outcome measures include the Numeric Pain Rating Scale for pain assessment, the Modified Barthel Index for functional independence, and the Fugl-Meyer Upper Extremity Scale for motor recovery. The intervention will be administered over four weeks, with assessments conducted at baseline, immediately after initial taping, and post-intervention. The study hypothesizes that the combined intervention will be more effective than placebo taping and conventional therapy in reducing pain and improving upper extremity motor and functional outcomes.
The findings of this research are expected to contribute to evidence-based physiotherapy practice by establishing an effective and feasible rehabilitation protocol for managing hemiplegic shoulder pain, ultimately improving functional recovery and quality of life in stroke survivors.
