Post Isometric Relaxation (PIR) technique combined with postural education
|
Post-Isometric Relaxation (PIR) for the iliopsoas muscle along with Postural Education for 6 days (1 session/day). PIR will be performed in the Modified Thomas position using a 10 second isometric contraction followed by relaxation and passive stretch, repeated four times. Postural education on ergonomic sitting, pelvic alignment, active breaks, and daily home stretching will be provided during each session. |
| Comparator Agent |
Ultrasound-Assisted Static Stretching combined with Postural Education |
Ultrasound-Assisted Static Stretching with Postural Education for 6 days (1 session/day). Ultrasound will be applied over the iliopsoas region in continuous mode (1 MHz, 1.5 W/cm²) for 7 minutes. After ultrasound, static stretching will be performed in the Modified Thomas position, holding each stretch for 40 seconds with 10-second rest, repeated four times. Postural education on ergonomic sitting, pelvic alignment, active breaks, and home stretching will be provided daily |

| Details |
Participants diagnosed Iliopsoas tightness by using the Modified Thomas Test (If the thigh rises 5
degree above the table level during the Modified Thomas Test, it indicates that hip extension is restricted. This upward angle reflects increased hip flexion due to iliopsoas tightness). |
|
| ExclusionCriteria |
| Details |
Use of painkillers, muscle relaxants, or corticosteroids.
History of spinal or hip pathology, fractures, deformities, or neurological conditions.
Regular gym training or involvement in other physical activities.
Any acute injury or condition contraindicating stretching or manual therapy. |

Brief Summary
|
This randomized controlled trial will evaluate the effect of Post-Isometric Relaxation (PIR) with Postural Education versus Ultrasound-Assisted Static Stretching with Postural Education on hip mobility, pelvic alignment, and quality of life in physiotherapy students with iliopsoas tightness. A total of 308 participants aged 18–28 years will receive one of the two interventions for six days. Hip extension range, pelvic tilt, and SF-36 scores will be assessed before and after treatment to identify the more effective technique for improving flexibility and posture. |
