Brief Summary
|
Adequate airway management is essential for patient safety during general anesthesia. The operating table height plays an important role in determining the anesthesiologist’s posture and effectiveness during airway management. Improper table height can lead to physical strain, discomfort, and difficulty in performing bag mask ventilation and endotracheal intubation. Although patient positioning has been studied extensively, limited attention has been given to the ergonomics of the anesthesiologist, particularly regarding table height. This study aims to evaluate the effect of different operating table heights on bag mask ventilation, laryngeal view during direct laryngoscopy, and success of endotracheal intubation. By comparing three standardized table heights relative to the anesthesiologist’s anatomical landmarks—mid sternum, xiphoid process, and umbilicus—the study seeks to identify the optimal table height for effective and ergonomic airway management. |
