3.Control (Usual Training) |
1.Participants in the specific speed training group will undergo treadmill-based sprint training for 8 weeks, 3 sessions per week. The intervention will include resisted sprinting and assisted sprinting protocols performed on a motorized treadmill under supervision of a qualified physiotherapist. Each session will last approximately 45 to 60 minutes. Training intensity and resistance levels will be progressively increased based on participant tolerance.
2.Participants in the non-specific speed training group will undergo general conditioning exercises including lower limb strengthening, plyometric drills and aerobic treadmill running for 8 weeks, 3 sessions per week under supervision
3.Participants in the control group will continue their routine sports training without additional structured treadmill-based speed training during the 8-week study period. |

Brief Summary
|
This study compares the effects of specific speed training and non specific speed training on sprint performance in trained sprinters over eight weeks. Specific training includes uphill and downhill treadmill sprinting, while non specific training includes strength exercises such as back squats and plyometric drills. Thirty to forty sprinters aged 18 to 25 will be randomly divided into specific training, non specific training, and control groups. Pre and post testing will include 100 meter sprint time, lower limb strength using a back leg chest dynamometer, horizontal jump performance, and treadmill sprint duration and speed. The aim is to determine which training method leads to greater improvement in sprint time and overall performance. Data will be analysed using paired and independent statistical tests. The study addresses gaps in the literature where specific and non specific speed training methods have not been compared directly in sprinters. |
