A structured 8-week mind-body module aimed at enhancing psychological, physiological, and physical well-being among female Bharatanatyam dancers with menstrual dysfunction. The intervention integrates breathing exercises, yoga postures, mindfulness practices, guided imagery, and cognitive-behavioral techniques. Sessions will be delivered in a hybrid mode—partly in person and partly through virtual platforms. Participant adherence will be supported through regular follow-up using logbooks, mobile messaging applications such as WhatsApp, and social media-based check-ins. |

Brief Summary
|
This study aims to assess the prevalence and impact of menstrual dysfunction on physical, physiological, and psychological parameters among female Bharatanatyam dancers aged 18 to 35 years. A total of 350 participants will be recruited to determine the prevalence of menstrual dysfunction using validated questionnaires. From this group, 246 dancers will be categorized based on menstrual regularity for comparative analysis of flexibility, balance, VO2 max, body composition, energy availability, sleep quality, mood, stress, quality of life, and self-efficacy.
From which 10 participants with menstrual dysfunction will undergo an 8 week mind body intervention. Pre and post assessments will be conducted to evaluate its effectiveness. The study follows a cross sectional and comparative design, using physical assessments, self reported questionnaires, and physiological tests. The findings are expected to provide insights into the health and performance needs of classical dancers and support wellness-based strategies. |
