Health Condition / Problems Studied
Health Type  Condition
Healthy Human Volunteers  healthy volunteers with edentulous arch

Intervention / Comparator Agent
Type  Name  Details
Comparator Agent  Digitized conventional cast   For each arch, a conventional impression will be taken using suitable impression material, from which a definitive cast will be poured and digitized using an extraoral laboratory scanner. This digitized cast will serve as the reference scan (Rlab) for each arch.
Intervention  Intraorally scanned ridges  1st scan- Continuous/ Non-stitched complete arch scan without reference marks 2nd scan- Stitched complete arch scan without reference marks 3rd scan- Continuous/ Non-stitched complete arch scan with reference marks 4th scan- Stitched complete arch scan with reference marks

Inclusion Criteria
Age From  30.00 Year(s)
Age To  70.00 Year(s)
Gender  Both
Details  a Healthy subjects having completely edentulous well rounded ridge in upper or lower jaw
b No infectious disease
c Age Subjects between 30 to 70 years of age
d Subjects having normal salivary flow and not taking any medication that would alter the quality or quantity of saliva

ExclusionCriteria
Details  a) Pregnant and lactating women
b) Subjects with temporomandibular joint disorder
c) Subjects having any tissue pathology, neuromuscular problem or need for pre prosthetic surgery

Brief Summary

comparing the accuracy of the stitching and non-stitching technique in case of completely edentulous arch. In addition to that use of surgical markers for making reference marks intraorally to check whether using artificial reference markers has an effect on the accuracy of digital scan impressions and whether it facilitates superimposition of the digital scan images. This study will lead to a better understanding of the scanning strategy for obtaining a completely edentulous arch impression and the influence of using artificial landmarks for the same
