Brief Summary
|
Aim of this study is to investigate whether shortening the preoperative fast using a solution containing carbohydrates can alter the acute-phase response and clinical outcomes of elective major operations of the digestive tract by assessing insulin resistance by HOMA-IR on postoperative day 1 and also assessing Perioperative glycemia, length of stay, fasting blood glucose, fasting insulin, insulin secretion index, insulin sensitivity index, intraoperative and post operative blood glucose upto 24 h post-surgery. |
