Intervention / Comparator Agent
Type  Name  Details
Intervention  Calisthenics   Calisthenics is a full-body exercise that uses body weight as a load to increase strength and endurance. The exercises are 1- Pushups 3 sets till failure, 2- Pullups 3 sets till failure, 3- Squats 3 sets till failure, 4- Burpees 3 sets till failure. All exercises will be done 4 times a week alternate day and for 6 weeks.
Comparator Agent  Weight Training  Weight training is a form of exercise that uses resistance like dumbells and barbells to build muscle strength, endurance. The exercises are 1- Bench press 3 sets of 12 repetitions, 2- Weighted squats 3 sets of 12 repetitions, 3- Shoulder press, 3 sets of 12 repetitions, 4- Machine Leg extension 3 sets of 12 repetitions. This exercises will be done 4 times a week alternate days for 6 weeks.

Brief Summary

The study titled “ Effectiveness of calisthenics vs weight training for increasing strength and endurance in National cadet corps students(NCC). A comparative study aims to evaluate and compare the impact of two different training methods on physical performance. The objective is to determine which approach calisthenics (bodyweight exercises) or weight training (resistance-based exercises) is more effective in enhancing muscular strength and cardiovascular endurance among NCC cadets. The study involves selecting participants and dividing them into two groups: one following a structured calisthenics program and the other undergoing weight training for a specific duration 6weeks Pre- and post-assessment tests for strength 1RM bench press and 1RM squats and endurance 1 minute pushups and 1 minute squats are conducted. The results are statistically analysed to identify the more beneficial training method for improving overall fitness and performance in NCC students.
