Brief Summary
|
Cancer is a significant health issue in India, with over 2.5 million cases diagnosed annually. This number is expected to rise due to population growth and lifestyle changes. Effective cancer care needs a multidisciplinary approach, but medical students in India often lack proper training in areas like screening, treatment, rehabilitation, and palliative care. Most past studies have focused on single aspects of cancer care and were limited to individual institutions. This study stands out by assessing the full spectrum of cancer care among medical interns and recent MBBS graduates across multiple centres, including national institutes and state colleges. It is also the first such study after the 2018 curriculum changes. The goal is to identify knowledge and training gaps and offer recommendations for improving cancer education in medical colleges across India. |
