Brief Summary

Hashimotos thyroiditis is one of the common autoimmune disorders, in this condition the immune system of one’s own attack their thyroid gland which leads to hypothyroidism and associated symptoms. This condition not only affects physical health but also has significant emotional and psychological impact. It’s known that the early life stress, such as emotional neglect or abuse, has been a risk factor for developing autoimmune thyroid disorders. The unresolved grief or trauma from early life experiences may contribute to the onset of Hashimoto’s thyroiditis later in life.

As Homoeopathic principles and treatments are based on holistic approach it’s very important to cover all the mental and emotional aspects of the patient. There are various repertories that have ailment from grief rubrics but Homeopathic Medical Repertory by Robin Murphy, contains every detail from all the existing repertories & upgradation from various sources, it contains 34 rubrics related to “Ailments from grief” which covers a large group of remedies. My aim is to evaluate the effectiveness of homoeopathic treatment in   Hashimoto’s thyroiditis case by using ailment from grief as an eliminating rubric with Murphy repertory.

A sample of 34 cases with Hashimoto’s thyroiditis having ailment from grief will be selected from the OPD, and peripheral centres of Sarada Krishna Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital and will be randomly assigned in the study. The sample size is 34 Cases and the period of study is 1 Year. The Expected duration of the subject participation is 6 Months. The outcome is to find the improvement of Hashimoto’s thyroiditis symptoms, blood parameters (thyroid function test, antiglobulin antibody) and grief symptoms by administering homoeopathic medicine prescribed using “Ailment from grief” rubric as an eliminating rubric. Pre and post treatment assessment of blood parameters, grief symptoms will be recorded. The Cases will be evaluated for age, sex, occupation, symptoms presented, values of thyroid function test antiglobulin antibody and grief assessment scale will be considered for statistical analysis and to derive the result, thereby validating the study.
