Brief Summary
Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) is a chronic metabolic disorder characterized by persistent hyperglycemia due to insulin resistance and impaired insulin secretion. It accounts for nearly 90% of global diabetes cases and represents a major public health concern owing to its increasing prevalence and complications such as cardiovascular disease, neuropathy, nephropathy, and retinopathy, which significantly affect quality of life and increase mortality. Although conventional management involving lifestyle modification and pharmacotherapy remains the standard approach, maintaining optimal glycemic control continues to be a major challenge. Homeopathy, the second largest medical system globally, offers a complementary approach in the management of chronic diseases, including diabetes. Robin Murphy’s Homoeopathic Medical Repertory provides a modern, clinically oriented structure with specific rubrics such as “Diabetes” under the Clinical chapter, allowing systematic selection of individualized remedies. However, there is a notable lack of clinical studies validating its practical utility in managing T2DM, indicating a research gap between repertorial theory and clinical outcomes. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of homeopathic medicines selected using Robin Murphy’s Homoeopathic Medical Repertory in lowering blood glucose levels in patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. It also seeks to assess changes in fasting and postprandial glucose levels following homeopathic intervention and to determine the relevance and applicability of Murphy’s Repertory in individualized remedy selection for T2DM management. The findings are expected to bridge the gap between theoretical repertorial application and clinical validation, contributing to the development of standardized, evidence-based homeopathic protocols and supporting the integration of homeopathy into chronic disease management.
