Brief Summary
|
This observational cross-sectional study aims to evaluate the perceived barriers to physical activity and current activity levels among older adults aged 50 years and above. It uses standardized self-report questionnaires without any intervention and collects data at a single point in time in both institutional and community settings. Participants will be selected through convenience and snowball sampling. Tools include the Mini-Mental State Examination for cognitive screening, age-appropriate versions of the International Physical Activity Questionnaire, the Barriers to Being Active Quiz adapted in Hindi, a socio-demographic data sheet, and the Modified Kuppuswamy Scale to assess socioeconomic status. Data will be anonymized, securely stored, and analyzed using SPSS version 16. Descriptive statistics will summarize variables, and inferential tests like chi-square, t-test, and ANOVA will identify significant associations, with a p-value below 0.05 indicating statistical significance. |
