Brief Summary
|
This is a randomized, single-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of individualized homoeopathic medicines prescribed on the basis of totality of symptoms in the treatment of Tinea corporis among young adults. The study is being carried out at Swasthya Kalyan Homoeopathic Medical College and Research Centre, Jaipur.
A total of 60 participants aged 18–26 years, clinically diagnosed with Tinea corporis, will be randomly assigned to two groups: one receiving individualized homoeopathic treatment and the other receiving a placebo. Allocation will be done using sealed opaque envelopes, and participants will be blinded to their group assignment.
The primary outcome measures include clinical improvement in skin lesions and reduction in symptom intensity (e.g., pruritus), assessed over a period of 3 months. Secondary outcomes include improvement in quality of life using the Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI).
This study aims to bridge classical homoeopathic philosophy (miasmatic and individualistic prescription) with modern clinical research methodology, contributing to evidence-based validation of homoeopathic treatment in superficial fungal infections. |
