Brief Summary   The work capability of a person varies based on several factors- health status, analytical abilities, social and attitudinal characteristics, workplace environment, and other factors. It is important to assess the ability of working individuals especially in a country like India where several job opportunities are present. To assess the work capacity, there exists a tool called the work ability index that evaluates a worker’s self-assessment of their work ability regarding work demand, health status, and worker resources. The availability of the WAI questionnaire in the Indian vernacular languages is limited. There is a shortage of translation and cross-cultural adaptation of WAI in the Kannada language, the recognized language spoken in Karnataka, the southwest state of India. The current study aims to translate the work ability index questionnaire into Kannada and check the psychometric properties of the questionnaire.
