Brief Summary

This study includes patients (18–60 years) undergoing mandibular molar extraction at the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department. After obtaining informed consent and basic blood investigations (CBC), patients will be randomly assigned to two groups:

  • Group A: Socket preservation using Demineralised Dentin Matrix (Osseograft) with a Resorbable Collagen Membrane.

  • Group B: Socket preservation using Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) prepared from autologous blood by centrifugation at 3000 rpm for 10 minutes.

Each group will be further divided into subgroups based on age (18–39 and 40–60). All extractions will be performed under local anesthesia using standard aseptic protocols by a single operator. After placement of materials, resorbable sutures will be placed.

Patients will receive standard post-extraction medications (Amoxicillin 500 mg and Diclopara TDS for 5 days). CBCT scans will be taken before extraction and at 4 months post-operatively. Healing will be evaluated at 7 days and 4 months post-op.

Parameters assessed include:

  • Alveolar bone height and width (using CBCT measurements),

  • Bone density via gray scale values (DICOM viewer),

  • Clinical healing (pain, swelling, infection),

  • Comparison of socket healing between materials.
