Brief Summary

This observational study aims to assess the prevalence of lumbar spinal deviation among young adult women engaged in household activities. Lumbar spinal deviation, including hypo and hyper lordosis, may result from prolonged poor posture during repetitive tasks like household chores. A total of 100 women aged 18 to 24 years were selected using G Power software. Participants were included if they performed at least 3 hours of household work daily. Women with a history of trauma, screen time exceeding 4 hours/day, neurological or cardiopulmonary issues, and those who were pregnant were excluded. Spinal curvature was evaluated and categorized as hypo lordotic, normal, or hyper lordotic. The results showed that 51% of participants had hypo lordosis, 38% had normal curvature, and 11% exhibited hyper lordosis. The findings suggest a high prevalence of hypo lordotic posture, highlighting the need for early ergonomic awareness, postural education, and preventive physiotherapy among young women involved in domestic work.
