Brief Summary
|
Artificial intelligence (AI) enhances undergraduate learning by simplifying complex topics, summarizing large texts, providing instant responses to queries, and supporting personalized learning. Relying too much on AI can potentially weaken studentsā ability to make independent clinical judgments, especially in complex cases where human intuition and empathy are crucial. Excessive use may also reduce social interaction and team-based communication. This study is planned with the aim and objective of exploring the knowledge, pattern of use, and perception of medical undergraduates (UGs) in medical learning. The study will include UGs from all courses -MBBS, BDS, Nursing and Pharmacy. At least 384 responses will be recorded through an online survey through self-reported questionnaire which will be circulated through WhatsApp and Gmail among students after obtaining informed consent from volunteers. This is one one-time cross-sectional survey. The primary endpoint of the study to identify the perception of medical undergraduates regarding use of AI in medical learning. The secondary endpoint of the study is to study the demography profile of medical undergraduates who use AI for medical learning, to study knowledge regarding use of AI among medical undergraduates and to know the pattern of use of AI among medical undergraduates. Data will be anonymized and entered in excel sheet. Percentage of responses will be noted. The questionnaire has four domains- demography, knowledge, pattern of use and perception of medical UGs towards use of AI in medical learning. A pilot study will be conducted for validation of the questionnaire. |
