Brief Summary
|
This cross-sectional observational study aims to investigate the impact of smartphone usage on thoracic kyphosis and lumbar lordosis among post-puberty adolescents aged 12 to 16 years. Participants will first be screened using the Smartphone Addiction Scale – Short Version (SAS-SV) to categorize the severity of smartphone addiction. Based on the screening, spinal curvatures will be assessed using a flexible ruler and bubble inclinometer to measure thoracic kyphosis and lumbar lordosis angles. The study seeks to identify whether prolonged smartphone usage is associated with postural deviations in this age group. Data will be collected from school-going adolescents in Mangaluru, Karnataka, and analyzed for correlations between smartphone addiction and spinal alignment. |
