Brief Summary
|
Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) remain the foremost cause of death globally, with developing countries like India bearing a significant portion of the burden due to rapid urbanization, changing lifestyles, and limited access to preventive care. This study conducted in the low-income urban area of Jantanagri, Lucknow, underscore the urgent need for early identification and management of cardiovascular risk, especially in underserved urban populations. Nurses serve as pivotal frontline professionals in addressing the escalating burden of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) in urban populations, particularly in rapidly expanding cities like Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. As highlighted by recent studies, timely detection and stratification of cardiovascular risk are essential for implementing targeted prevention strategies.Nurses not only detect existing health conditions but also actively work to prevent the progression of these conditions among at-risk populations, ensuring better long-term health outcomes. They can accurately stratify patients according to their risk levels and implement personalized intervention strategies. This early identification is critical, as it enables timely, targeted measures that can significantly reduce the likelihood of developing severe cardiovascular conditions. Considering the impact of CVDs and understanding that early identification of risk factors helps reduce the burden and mortality rate associated with CVDs, we planned to conduct a study in urban community to emphasize the crucial role of nurse in identifying of these risk factors and prevention of CVDs, |
