Here is a brief summary of the dissertation for CTRI registration: Title: Prevalence of Musculoskeletal Pain and Its Association with Sleep Habits Among Individuals Engaging in Calisthenics: A Cross-Sectional Study Principal Investigator: Ms Saisha Kamat Institution: SDM College of Physiotherapy, Dharwad, Karnataka Guide: Dr. Ravi Savadatti Study Design: Cross-sectional observational study Objective:Primary: To determine the prevalence of musculoskeletal (MSK) pain in individuals practicing calisthenics. Secondary: To assess the association between sleep habits and MSK pain in this population. Rationale: Calisthenics, a form of bodyweight training, is gaining popularity for its functional benefits. However, advanced calisthenic movements carry a risk of musculoskeletal injuries. Simultaneously, sleep plays a critical role in recovery and injury prevention, yet its association with injury rates in this population is under-researched. Novelty: This is among the first Indian studies to explore injury prevalence and the influence of sleep habits specifically in calisthenics practitioners—a growing, yet scientifically underrepresented, fitness discipline. Sample Size & Methodology -
189 participants aged 18–30, with at least 6 months of regular calisthenics practice. -
Data will be collected using Google Forms, incorporating the Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire (NMQ) and the Athlete Sleep Screening Questionnaire (ASSQ). Outcome Measures: Statistical Analysis: Expected Benefits: -
