Brief Summary
|
The title of the project is Gender differences in memories of upbringing, perceived social support from
friends and emotional regulation among young adults.
The aim of the study is to assess the gender
difference in the memories of upbringing, perceived social support from friends and emotional regulation
in young adults.
The objective of the study is to find the gender difference in the memories of upbringing,
perceived social support from friends and emotional regulation in young adults
The study of young
adults is needed due to their unique hurdles posed during developmental stage like heightened
emotional challenges and how they depend on peer networks for the same. The differences in gender
can impact the socialization process hence how they perceive social support could be very different
from one another. The differences on how they regulate their emotions as well as their childhood
memories can impact their relationships very distinctively. The research proposal was reviewed by the subject experts of the Department of Clinical Psychology.
After obtaining the approval, the proposal was presented for review by the Institutional Research
Committee (IRC) of MCHP, MAHE. Ethical clearance will be sought and approved from the Institutional Ethics Committee (IEC),
MAHE. A google form, which will be split
into multiple pages, will be made consisting of information form of the objective of the study, sociodemographic details along with
the consent form. It also includes the scales - My memories of upbringing-short form (S-EMBU) , Perceived social support from friends (Pss-fr) and Emotional Regulation Questionnaire .The form will be shared with college students aged 18 to 25 through email, face-to-face .and other relevant social media platforms. The data collected will be through voluntary participation. Data will be
analysed using suitable statistical techniques. Data collection will be continued until the required number of participants has been achieved. |
