Intervention / Comparator Agent
Type  Name  Details
Intervention  Implants with conical abutment connection  Implants with conical abutment connection will be placed in maxilla or mandible.Professional outcome measures such as implant survival, crestal bone level, biologic complications, prosthetic complications will be evaluated.Implant survival and prosthetic complications will be evaluated 6 months after prosthesis delivery. Crestal bone level will be measured at the time of implant placement,4 months after implant placement and 6 months after prosthesis delivery. Biologic complications will be evaluated after implant placement and after prosthesis delivery. Patient reported outcome measures like comfort, masticatory function, speech, esthetics and overall satisfaction will be evaluated after the prosthesis delivery and at 6 months
Comparator Agent  Implants with internal hexagon abutment connection  Implants with internal hexagon abutment connection will be placed in maxilla or mandible.Professional outcome measures such as implant survival, crestal bone level, biologic complications, prosthetic complications will be evaluated.Implant survival and prosthetic complications will be evaluated 6 months after prosthesis delivery.Crestal bone level will be measured at the time of implant placement,4 months after implant placement and 6 months after prosthesis delivery.Biologic complications will be evaluated after implant placement and after prosthesis delivery.Patient reported outcome measures like comfort, masticatory function, speech, esthetics and overall satisfaction will be evaluated after the prosthesis delivery and at 6 months

Brief Summary

Oral implantology is an advancing field with the continuous development of new designs, concepts and materials. Currently, dental implants have various abutment connections designed to reduce the risk of abutment movement and loosening of the inner screws. There are several types of internal connections, with most commonly being the internal hex and conical designs. Professional outcome measures such as implant survival, crestal bone level, biologic complications, prosthetic complications and Patient reported outcome measures such as comfort, masticatory function, speech, esthetics and overall satisfaction will be evaluated in conical vs internal hexagon implant abutment connection.
