Pulsed Radiofrequency Ablation (PRFA) near Cervical Dorsal Root Ganglion |
Following informed written consent under fluoroscopic guidance Radiofrequency cannula (22G , 100 mm) will be placed in the cervical foramina at the affected Foraminal level. Following this contrast agent will be injected to identify the nerve root and Dorsal root ganglion. Following DRG identification 2 cycles of pulsed radiofrequency at temperature 42 degree Celsius for 120 second will be given. Motor and sensory testing will be done prior to this procedure. Following procedure pain will be evaluated using numerical rating scale. on a range of 1 to 10. following Procedure follow up will be done at 3 month. |

| Details |
The patients aged between 18 to 65 years who have undergone upper limb amputation and presently suffering from phantom limb pain will be included in the study. These patients will undergo Pulsed radiofrequency ablation of Cervical Dorsal root ganglion and follow up period will be done at 3 month following the procedure in terms of pain reduction and improvement in quality of life. |

Brief Summary
|
Phantom limb pain is
defined as painful sensation referring to missing limb. Multiple modalities
including medical and interventional therapies has been tried so far with
minimal success. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of pulsed
radiofrequency (PRF) adjacent to cervical dorsal root ganglion (DRG) in
patients with upper extremity phantom limb pain. The pain reduction will be assessed in terms of Numerical rating score at Baseline at 1 month following procedure and at 3 months following procedure. |
