Details |
| Intervention |
Isolytic Muscle Energy Technique |
Subject is in side lying position with treatment shoulder up. The subject was asked to lightly push the shoulder anteriorly, against restraining hand of the therapist. Patient has to apply 15 percent of force
3 contractions in 10 sec for 3 times at every range

Brief Summary
|
Pectoralis minor is a small postural muscle and acts as a stabilizing
muscle for shoulder joint therefore prone to get adaptively shortened due to
inappropriate posture with prevalence of 62. 92 percent in young adults.
Despite research supporting the use of Muscle Energy Technique for a large number of
conditions and large muscles, no investigators have determined the immediate
effect of Muscle Energy Technique for small muscle so this study helps to examine the efficacy of two Muscle Energy Technique (Isolytic and Pulsed) which are two novel techniques for reducing pectoralis minor tightness in asymptomatic healthy individuals may assist clinicians in preventing and treating shoulder injuries in this group. This study supports the both the null and alternative hypothesis as There will be or there will not be significant difference between the immediate effect of Pulsed and Isolytic
Muscle Energy Technique on pectoralis minor muscle length and forward shoulder
angle in young adults with rounded shoulder posture. |
