Details  Healthy volunteers aged 18–30 years.
Individuals scoring within the normal range (score less than or equal to 3) on a validated health screening tool (General Health Questionnaire - GHQ-12).
Individuals willing to participate in yoga sessions and provide informed consent.
No history of chronic illness or recent major medical interventions. 
 
ExclusionCriteria

Quantitative Fluorescence In Situ Hybridization (HT-Q-FISH): A sensitive and precise method that quantifies Mean telomere length (MTL) in kilobases per cell, Percentage of critically short telomeres,Telomere length distribution across leukocyte subsets. 
Telomere length changes are assessed before and after the intervention period of 6 months.

Brief Summary   This randomized controlled trial aims to investigate the effect of a structured academic yoga program on telomere length in healthy volunteers. Telomere structures naturally shorten with age, and their accelerated erosion is associated with various age-related diseases and poor health outcomes. Yoga may positively influence telomere length and consequently ,cellular aging .The Study involves 20 participants aged 18 -30 years from the International Institute of Yoga and Naturopathy Medical Sciences (IIYNMS),Chengalpattu. Participants will engage in one hour of regular academic yoga practice, five days a week, for six months. The interventional effectiveness is assessed through measuring the Changes in Telomere length using High-throughput Quantitative Fluorescence In Situ Hybridization (HT-Q-FISH) at baseline and post intervention. By examining the biological and psychological outcomes of yoga practice, this study seeks to provide scientific evidence on its potential as a preventive health strategy for enhancing cellular longevity and overall well-being.
