Training on geriatric mental health nursing care |
A Hybrid mode of training was provided for 10weeks to nurses on geriatric mental health nursing care.One day orientation session will be provided .Followed by two sessions online per week, will include the sharing of materials,case based discussion and video modules. total duration of training 40 hours. |

Brief Summary
|
This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a structured nurses training program on geriatric mental health care among nurses working in elder care facilities in and around Bangalore using a quasi-experimental one group pretest posttest design. The training includes a one-day offline workshop at NIMHANS followed by 10 weeks of online sessions covering key topics through lectures video modules case-based discussions and self-paced learning Primary outcomes knowledge and skill will be assessed using structured questionnaires OSCE checklists and self-report scales at three time points pretest, posttest, and followup A sample of 40 nurses will be selected using convenience sampling Data will be analyzed using SPSS employing both descriptive and inferential statistics, including RM ANOVA Ethical approvals and institutional permissions will be obtained. This study addresses the urgent need to build geriatric mental health capacity among nurses in India to improve care quality for the aging population |
