Brief Summary
|
This Study Aimed To find out the effect of 6 weeks of structured and supervised home based body weight circuit training program on functional capacity in obese individuals. Objective of this study is to evaluate the functional capacity of obese individuals using 6-minute walk test. To evaluate effect of 6 weeks of structured and supervised home based body weight circuit training program on functional capacity in obese individuals. Individuals between 18 to 45 years of age are generally obese because of sedentary lifestyle, workload and stress. An interventional study will be conducted between the age group of 18 to 45 years old obese individuals, using structured and supervised circuit training program and using 6-minute walk test to assess the functional capacity. The study sought to identify whether 6 weeks of structured and supervised circuit training program will lead to changes in functional capacity. A structured circuit training
program will be conducted for 30 individuals, lasting a total of 40 minutes.
The session will be divided into three phases: a warm-up, a conditioning phase,
and a cool-down. The warm-up phase will last for 5 minutes and include the
following exercises, each performed for 10 repetitions: head rotations (both
clockwise and anticlockwise), shoulder circles (forward and backward), elbow
flexion and extension bilaterally, wrist rotations (clockwise and anticlockwise
bilaterally), lower back rotations, hip flexion, extension, abduction, and
adduction bilaterally, as well as ankle rotations (clockwise and
anticlockwise). Following the warm-up, participants will enter the conditioning
phase, which will last for 30 minutes and consist of three 3 circuits. The
exercises in the conditioning phase will include 10 repetitions of bodyweight
squats, push-ups, jumping jacks, mountain climbers, high knee jacks, ski hops,
planks, spot jogging, triceps curls, biceps curls, and calf raises. After
completing the conditioning phase, participants will engage in a cool-down
phase lasting 5 minutes, head rotations (both clockwise and anticlockwise),
shoulder circles (forward and backward), elbow flexion and extension
bilaterally, wrist rotations (clockwise and anticlockwise bilaterally), lower
back rotations, hip flexion, extension, abduction, and adduction bilaterally,
as well as ankle rotations (clockwise and anticlockwise).
Functional capacity will be assessed by 6minute walk test pre and post of the training. |
