| Details |
1. Sport Experience: Minimum of 2 years of continuous Kabaddi playing experience.
2. Diagnosis of Chronic Ankle Instability (CAI) and history of unilateral lateral ankle sprain.
3. At least two episodes of the ankle giving way in the past 6 months.
4. A Cumberland Ankle Instability Tool (CAIT) score less than or equal to 24.
5. Consent: Willingness to participate and provide written informed consent. |

1. Recent Injuries: Any acute lower limb injury in the last 3 months.
2. Other Medical Conditions like neurological, vestibular, or musculoskeletal disorders affecting balance.
3. Any psychological disorders and sleeping disturbance
4. Previous history of ankle or lower limb surgery.
5. Concurrent Training: Participation in any other balance or rehabilitation program during the study.

Brief Summary
|
Chronic ankle instability (CAI) is a common condition that affects athletes, particularly those engaged in sports that demand rapid changes in direction, jumping, and physical contact—such as kabaddi. CAI typically results from repeated ankle sprains, leading to persistent pain, reduced proprioception, muscle weakness, and impaired dynamic balance. Dynamic balance is critical in kabaddi, as players must constantly shift weight, dodge opponents, and maintain control in unstable positions. Perturbation training, which involves exposing the body to controlled, unexpected disturbances during movement, has gained attention as an effective rehabilitation approach for improving neuromuscular control and dynamic stability. By challenging the body’s balance mechanisms, perturbation training enhances proprioceptive feedback and reactive postural responses, which are often compromised in individuals with CAI. Despite its potential benefits, limited research has explored the specific effects of perturbation training in kabaddi players—a population highly susceptible to ankle injuries due to the sport’s high physical demand. Therefore, a structured 6-week perturbation training program may offer a targeted and sport-specific intervention to improve dynamic balance and reduce the risk of recurrent injuries among kabaddi players with CAI. |
