1.Adult patients who are on indwelling (foleys) catheterization of more than 2 days
admitted in in patient department and consult in out patient department
2.Patients with pus cells more than 5 HPF
3.Symptomatic patients with microorganisms more than 1000 CFU per ml
4.Asymptomatic patients with microorganisms more than 100000 CFU per ml
5.Patients not receiving conventional antibiotic treatment for last 1 week |

Brief Summary
|
A prospective clinical study will be conducted in patients attending the inpatient and outpatient sections of the Government Homoeopathic Medical College, Kozhikode. The period of study will be minimum of 1 year from date of onset of research. A minimum of 23 cases of UTI in catheterized patients satisfying the inclusion and
exclusion criteria will be taken up for the study. Consent is obtained after explaining the study in detail to the individual. urine analysis and culture will done in urinary tract infection suspected patients. All cases will be treated according to the principles of Homoeopathy. Each case will be reviewed at 2 weeks. Outcome of the treatment will be assessed by changes in urine analysis and culture. Final evaluation of data will be done by means of an appropriate statistical method. |
