Active Release Technique (ART) with Mulligan’s Bent Leg Raise (BLR) Technique |
Participants in this group will receive a single-session physiotherapeutic intervention comprising the Active Release Technique (ART) followed by Mulligan’s Bent Leg Raise (BLR) technique. The intervention will be administered with the participant in a supine lying position. ART involves the therapist applying gentle tension along the entire length of the hamstring muscle while the muscle is actively moved from a shortened to a lengthened position, aiming to release soft tissue restrictions and improve muscle flexibility. Following ART, the BLR technique is applied by flexing the hip and knee and placing the leg over the therapist’s shoulder to perform a controlled, pain-free stretch. This one-time manual therapy session is applied to both lower limbs and serves as a comparator intervention to assess and compare the immediate effects on hamstring flexibility. |

Positional Release Technique with Mulligan’s Bent Leg Raise |
Participants in this group will receive a single-session physiotherapeutic intervention consisting of Positional Release Technique (PRT) followed by Mulligan’s Bent Leg Raise (BLR) technique. The intervention will be performed with the participant lying in a supine position. The PRT involves positioning the affected hamstring muscle in a position of comfort to reduce tension and promote muscle relaxation, typically maintained for 90 seconds. Following PRT, the BLR technique will be applied, where the participant’s hip and knee are flexed, and the limb is placed on the therapist’s shoulder to perform gentle isometric stretching. This combined manual therapy is delivered once to both lower limbs and is aimed at providing an immediate improvement in hamstring flexibility in asymptomatic individuals with hamstring tightness. |

Brief Summary
|
This study aims to evaluate and compare the immediate effect of Positional Release Technique and Active Release Technique along with Mulligan Bent Leg Raise technique on improving hamstring flexibility in asymptomatic desktop workers. A total of 82 participants aged 18 to 45 years will be randomly divided into two groups. Group A will receive Positional Release Technique with Mulligan Bent Leg Raise and Group B will receive Active Release Technique with Mulligan Bent Leg Raise. Range of motion will be assessed using Straight Leg Raise and Active Knee Extension tests with a digital inclinometer before and after the intervention. The study is designed as a randomized comparative experimental trial conducted at SGRR University and Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital over a duration of six months. The aim is to determine which combination is more effective for immediate improvement in hamstring flexibility among sedentary individuals. |
