Brief Summary

The study aims to develop and validate a Knowledge, Attitude, and Practice (KAP) assessment tool for Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG 3) among healthcare professionals in India. SDG 3 focuses on ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all at all ages, addressing key indicators such as reducing maternal and child mortality, combating communicable diseases, and promoting mental health. The tool will be systematically developed through a literature review, expert consultations, and alignment with global and national health guidelines. It will consist of structured sections evaluating healthcare professionals’ knowledge, attitudes, and practices toward SDG 3 targets. Content validity will be ensured through expert reviews, followed by a pilot study with 30 participants to refine the questionnaire. Validation will involve statistical analyses, including reliability testing (Cronbach’s alpha, test-retest reliability) and construct validity (exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis). The finalized tool will then be administered to a larger, representative sample of healthcare professionals across India to ensure robustness and applicability. This tool will provide insights into gaps in knowledge, attitudes, and practices, enabling targeted interventions and policy decisions to accelerate SDG 3 progress in India. The findings will contribute significantly to public health and sustainable development efforts.
