Details |
| Intervention |
6 weeks |
3 session per week for 6 weeks of conventional exercises and the groups which includes taping will be done twice a week for 6 weeks |
| Comparator Agent |
GROUP A (shoulder performance Kinesio taping along with conventional exercise) |
For deltoid: One I-strip on middle deltoid muscle from acromion process to deltoid tuberosity of humerus with 50% of stretch with shoulder in 90-degree abduction. One I-strip on anterior deltoid fibres from lateral one third of clavicle to deltoid tuberosity of humerus with shoulder in extension and posterior fibres of deltoid muscle shoulder in flexed position tape is applied from lower lip of spine of scapula to the deltoid tuberosity of humerus with a 50% stretch.
For scapula stabilization: One I strip from acromioclavicular joint to inferior angle of scapula in retraction with 50 % stretch, one I strip from medial head of clavicle to lower medial border of scapula in retraction with 50 % stretch. After taping the participant is allowed to do daily living activities and play badminton but is not allowed to do any form of exercises of upper-limb. The tapes will be changed two times in a week for 4 weeks.

Brief Summary
|
This study is a comparative study , single blinded , parallel group trail comparing the effects of shoulder performance kinesio taping along with conventional exercises versus sham taping along with conventional exercises versus only conventional exercises to check the strength, power and agility of upper limb among recreational badminton players. the intervention is of 6 weeks and 3 sessions per week will be conducted in Dayananda Sagar University sports ground and other recreational badminton centres in Bangalore. The upper limb strength, power, agility will be checked using outcome measures like push up test, single arm seated shot put test and Davies test respectively before and after the intervention of 6 weeks. |
