Brief Summary
|
In this study, titled "Effectiveness Of Lower Limb Muscle Strengthening on Performance in Swimmers-A Randomized Controlled Trial" the study aims to explore the effect of lower limb muscle strengthening on performance in swimmers . Swimming is a dynamic and highly demanding sport that requires a combination of cardiovascular endurance, strength, and technique. The performance in any race, is significantly influenced by the swimmer’s physical conditioning, technique, and the biomechanical demands of the sport. It encompasses a variety of events ranging from sprints, like the 100-meter freestyle. Swimmers training protocol consists mainly of upper limb muscle strengthening but lacks lower limb muscle strength training which may also be an important component for propulsion force and its effect on performance(time). This study has acquired the ethical committee approval letter from the Ethics Committee of Dr. Balabhai Nanavati Hospital Mumbai. The study is a randomized-controlled trial with 2 groups of 30 swimmers each, a total of 60 swimmers participants who will take part in a 2 weeks program,4 sessions each week with 8 sessions in total. This program includes sessions that work on components like strength, performance time. Participants will undergo assessments of lower limb muscle strength of Quadriceps, Hamstring, Gluteus Maximus and Iliopsoas using Digital Push Pull Dynamometer and performance test-100 meter swim test time before and after the program. |
