Brief Summary
|
Study title: Effects of Lumbopelvic stabilization exercise on Hamstring muscle activity and Agility among Collegiate cricket players. Background: Improvement in Lumbopelvic control has been suggested to reduce hamstrings demand and potential for injury. Proximally Biceps Femoris long head possesses an additional attachment to the sarcotuberous ligament directly connecting it to sacroiliac joint sggesting its influence on pelvis and sacroiliac joint stability. Thus, alterations in pelvis and sacroiliac joint kinematics will likely impact the strain distribution through the biceps femoris. Objective: To evaluate the effect of Lumbopelvic stabilization exercise on Hamstring muscle activity and Agility among Collegiate cricket players Study design: This is a prospective, randomised control trial evaluating the effect of Lumbopelvic stabilization exercise to a conventional rehabilitation protocol on Hamstring muscle activity and Agility among collegiate cricket players Intervention: The experimental group will undergo lumbopelvic stabilization exercise while the control group will perform conventional rehabilitation protocol. Outcome measures: primary outcome includes Muscle activity (Surface Electromyography) and secondary outcome agility (Agility T test) Study population: Healthy collegiate cricket players aged between 18 to 30 years Sample size and duration: 52 cricket players with 6 weeks intervention period Ethical considerations: The study will be conducted in accordance with ethical guidelines and has received ethical approval from the Institutional Review Board |
