Brief Summary

This cross-sectional survey investigates the knowledge, awareness, and adherence to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) among physiotherapists in India. The study emphasizes the critical role of physiotherapy in achieving SDG targets related to health, well-being, education, and equity. Data were collected from practicing physiotherapists across diverse regions, analyzing their understanding of SDG principles, integration into clinical practice, and the challenges faced in implementation. Findings revealed moderate awareness but limited adherence, with barriers including insufficient training, resource constraints, and a lack of institutional support. The survey underscores the need for targeted education programs, policy reforms, and collaborative efforts to enhance the contribution of physiotherapy to SDGs. The study advocates integrating SDG-focused curricula in physiotherapy education, fostering interprofessional collaborations, and leveraging digital health tools to bridge gaps. By addressing these issues, Indian physiotherapists can be pivotal in advancing sustainable healthcare and achieving global health targets.
