Brief Summary
|
Aims: The aim of this study is to analyze the individuals understanding and attitudes towards processed foods and food preservatives among young adults.
Objectives: 1. To understand the level of awareness and knowledge among young adults regarding the use of food preservatives in processed foods. 2. To explore the attitudes of young adults towards the consumption of processed foods containing preservatives.
Tools used: Structured questionnaire for collecting and Jamovi statistical software for analyzing data.
Statistical methods: Descriptive statistics and inferential statistical tests like correlations, regression, and T-tests for independent samples will be performed.
Detailed description of procedure / processes: Permissions and Clearances: IRC approval from PSPH, MAHE and IEC approval KMC & KH, Manipal Recruitment Process- The study population consists of individuals aged between 18 and 30 years from and can understand English. Sample selection will be made using convenience sampling. Participants are selected using the contacts in personal and professional network, based on their availability and willingness to take part. Informed consent from the individuals participating in the study will be obtained by providing them with all necessary information, including the study’s purpose and procedures. An online structured questionnaire will be administered to the individuals who agree to participate in the study to assess consumer awareness and attitude towards intake of processed food and food preservatives by sending direct messages and emails or posting a request in relevant groups.
