This study is a  descriptive survey which will be conducted among students of  Manipal School of Nursing & Manipal College of Nursing, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal during their clinical duty. Nursing students in the final year of B.Sc. Nursing, M.Sc. Nursing, PBBSc Nursing, and GNM in Manipal College of Nursing & Manipal School of Nursing, MAHE, Manipal will be the study participants.  The study aimed to assess the level of compassion fatigue, contributing factors of compassion fatigue, and its association with professional identity among 184 nursing students to provide valuable insight into compassion fatigue and impart teaching on coping strategies tailored to support the resilience of future nursing professionals.

Objectives of the study:

assess the status of compassion fatigue among nursing students using a Compassion Fatigue Short Scale (CFSS).

find the contributing factors of compassion fatigue among nursing students using a Compassion Fatigue Factors Scale for Nursing Students - structured questionnaire 

assess the professional identity among nursing students using a Macleod Clark Professional Identity Scale (MCPIS - 9)

find the association between compassion fatigue and professional identity among nursing students
