Brief Summary   In Ayurveda great importance has been given to Garbhini paricharya including pathyaapathya to protect the growing foetus and nourishment for healthy womb. The foetus is completely dependent on its mother for its growth and development during pregnancy the demand of iron much more increased by both mother and foetus. In majority cases the Garbhini Pandu occurs due to deficiency of iron is directly responsible for 20% maternal death .According to WHO prevalence of anaemia in developed and developing country in pregnant women is estimated at about 14% in developed and 51% in developing countries. In India the prevalence is 65 to 75%. WHO defines anemia as presence of hemoglobin less than 11gm/dl.Iron containing drugs are used in modern medicine as a heamataics but these drugs induce some adverse drug reaction like nausea ,vomiting ,metallic test, epigastric pain. Anaemia can be correlated with Pandu explain in Ayurveda classics with all above background, this topic is chosen in the management of Garbhini Pandu. Treatment period will be of 2 months and follow up on 15th 30th 45th and 61th day.
