Brief Summary
Perforated appendicitis carries a high risk of postoperative intra abdominal infection. This randomized controlled trial will compare the effect of peritoneal and wound lavage using superoxidized solution versus normal saline after open appendectomy in patients with perforated appendicitis. The primary objective is to evaluate differences in postoperative surgical site infection between the two groups. Secondary objectives include assessing length of hospital stay and overall morbidity.
