Brief Summary

FOMO is a "pervasive apprehension that others might be having rewarding experiences from which one is absent." In recent years, there has been a significant increase in the use of social media platforms. Most individuals engage with social media daily, often checking their accounts multiple times per day and spending an average of 2 hours and 24 minutes online—equivalent to an entire day of waking hours each week.

Numerous social media platforms exist, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, and WhatsApp. As social media has become an integral part of people’s lives worldwide, empirical research has increasingly focused on its impact on mental health, sparking debate about its benefits and drawbacks. Some studies have highlighted the potential harmful effects of intensive social media use, such as reduced sleep quality and increased stress and anxiety levels.

This study aims to assess the effectiveness of mindfulness therapy on fear of missing out (FOMO) and self-compassion due to social media use among undergraduate nursing students of Raipur city.
