Brief Summary

                                                                                                                                                                               NEED OF THE STUDY

• Flat feet, also known as pes planus, is a common foot deformity affecting approximately 20-30% of the population. It can lead to issues such as overpronation, ankle instability, and poor balance.
 • Foot posture plays a significant role in maintaining balance, and alterations in foot mechanics. so due to flat feet it can increase the risk of injuries and falls.
 • Dynamic balance, the ability to maintain equilibrium during movement, is crucial for daily activities and sports performance in individuals with flat feet.
 • The short foot exercise, a newer technique that targets the intrinsic foot muscles. However, its effect on balance and foot posture is not clearly defined/ understood. Hence the need to study the mechanism of SFE is mandatory.
 • Despite its potential benefits, there is a lack of research investigating the specific effects of short foot exercise on dynamic balance and foot posture in healthy individuals with flat feet. This study aims to address this knowledge gap by exploring the impact of short foot exercise on dynamic balance and foot posture in this population

                                                                                                                                                                             AIM OF THE STUDY

To assess the effect of short foot exercise on dynamic balance and foot posture in healthy individuals with flat feet.

                                                                                                                                                                             OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

• To study the effect of short foot exercise on dynamic balance by Y-balance test in individuals with flat feet.
 • To study the effect of short foot exercises on foot posture in individuals with flat feet.

                                                                                                                                                                                PROCEDURE

 • After ethical approval , according to inclusion and exclusion criteria will divide into two groups.

 • Group A :short foot exercise

 • Group B: toe curling exercise

 • Outcome measures will be recorded after intervention
Group A
Short foot exercise-5 times/ week for 2 week
Short foot exercise is performed by pulling the head of the first metatarsal towards the heel without flexion of the toes, thereby shortening the length of the foot.
Group B
conventional exercise-5 times /week for 2 week
Toe curling exercise is performed by place a feet on the floor with your legs straight out and curls the toes towards the heel.
