Intervention / Comparator Agent
Type  Name  Details
Intervention  Individualised Homoeopathic Medicines.  Intervention is planned as administering indicated homoeopathic medicines in centesimal potencies (CH). Each dose will consist of 4 cane sugar globules no. 20 moistened with the indicated medicine (preserved in 90% v/v ethanol), to be taken orally on clean tongue in empty stomach; dosage and repetition depending upon the individual requirement of the cases. Patients will be advised to refrain from handling the globules or from eating, drinking, smoking or brushing teeth within 30 minutes of taking the globules and will be asked to suck the globules rather than simply swallowing those. Single individualized medicine will be prescribed on each occasion taking into account presenting symptom totality, clinical history details, constitutional features, miasmatic expressions, repertorization using ‘HOMPATH’, ‘RADAR’ and ‘ISIS’ software when required with due consultation of Materia Medica and due consensus among three homoeopaths. All the medicines and sundry items will be procured from a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certified firm. Duration of therapy: 3 months Concomitant care: Along with medicines, all the patients will receive advice on gargling with luke-warm saline water.

Brief Summary   This study is intended to examine common pediatric conditions in clinical settings; despite this, there is a lack of evidence. Tonsillitis detected from bacterial origin confirmed by throat swab culture. The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the changes in ASO titre level at day 0 and month 2 and in month 3. The secondary objective of this study is to look after the sore throat pain model VAS level at day 0, and every month up to 3 months. Besides that, there is also look after the MONARCH at three months for look after the causal attribution of treatment. This is an open-lebel single-arm trial. Here intervention is used as individualized homoeopathic medicine according to the case symptoms similarity with concomitant care of lukewarm saline water gurgle. Dose and repetition guided by symptoms similarity and according to hommeopathic principals. The study contains only a sample size of 30 and the duration of therapy for three months.
