The intervention is 21 days combined Yoga and Meditation programme conducted on daily basis at Department of Anatomy, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. The course consists of mindfulness-based meditation, various relaxation and breathing techniques taught by designated meditation trainers who are qualified and certified professionals. Each session will be approximately 30 min duration (15minutes breathing exercises followed by 15 minutes mindfulness meditation).

Brief Summary
We have planned this study to see the effect of yoga as a lifestyle intervention in POAG patients. Patients will undergo a structured and pre-tested yoga program. The supervised yoga-based intervention (including gentle physical movements and postures (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayamas), meditation, and lectures on yoga philosophy) is a regular outpatient-based program, practiced for two hours each day for the 21 days. Following the yoga intervention the patients will become less anxious with better coping mechanism. This study will also enlighten the effect of yoga on biomarkers of inflammation and oxidative stress in POAG and to further understand the pathogenesis of the disease. Thus, it may be possible to use it as an adjunct therapy.
