Brief Summary
Introduction:-
In the Charaka Samhita, there are tenfold examinations mentioned for evaluating the Aatura (patients), one of which is Dhatu Sara Parikshana. Among these, Sara Pariksha stands out as a crucial tool reflecting the
overall well being of an individual across physical, physiological, psychological, and spiritual dimensions of health.

It is understood that individuals designated with a particular Sara not only possess the quality of a particular Dhatu but may also exhibit qualities of other Dhatus to some extent. The term "Dhriti" originates from
the root ‘Dhriyan Dharane’ with the suffix ‘Ktin’, meaning to withhold. Various dictionaries, such as Monier Williams, Yates, Vachaspatya, and Shabdkalpadruma, define ‘Dhriti’ as firmness, resolution, or the
willpower to maintain stability and find contentment or satisfaction, such as ‘Tushti’. The mind acts as a conduit for the desires of the soul, yet without appropriate regulation, the soul experiences unrestricted
physiological momentum. In such circumstances, the mind can self-regulate (Swasya Nigraha) using an intellectual component known as ’Dhriti.’

Dhriti encompasses qualities such as self-control, courage, mental strength, and memory. In the Charaka Samhita, Dhriti is recognized as a characteristic of an individual with Mamsa Dhatusara. Therefore, by
examining Ashtavidha Dhatusarata, the presence of Dhriti can be assessed across these different categories of Sarata.

Rationality of the topic:-
The mind acts as a conduit for the desires of the soul, yet without appropriate regulation, the soul experiences unrestricted physiological momentum. In such circumstances, the mind can self-regulate (Swasya
Nigraha) using an intellectual component known as ’Dhriti.’ Many times, people struggle to handle their emotions, becoming angry, frustrated, depressed, or anxious over minor issues, which can lead to conditions
like anxiety neurosis. A lack of self-awareness and self-management often results in poor decisions during critical periods of their lives.

Therefore, Dhriti can be interpreted as a quality that prevents one from getting distracted by life’s diversions, thereby helping to maintain focus on current tasks or long-term objectives.

With regards to this lacuna, the hypothesis has been planned in such a way to evaluate the association between Ashtavidha Sarta and Dhriti in special context to self-control in healthy participants.

Aim:-
To find the association between Ashtavidha Sarata and Dhriti in special context to self-control.

Objectives:-
1.To study physiological and psychological aspect of Ashtavidha Sarata.
2.To study the concept of Dhriti (self-control) in a context of Ashtavidha Sarata from Ayurvedic classical literature and current literature.

Materials and Methods:-

200 desired apparently healthy  participants between age group of 18 to 40 years will be taken in survey Study.

Results and Discussion:-
Data generated during the above study will be presented in a systemic manner as shall be analyzed, where the important points of the review of literature and data of survey study based on statistical analysis will be
discussed.
