Comparator Agent  Passive Recovery  Participants assigned to group C will be asked to lay down and recover passively. 
Intervention  Progressive Muscle relaxation  Participants in group B are instructed to listen to the pre-recorded PMR instructions for 10 min., which consisted of instructions for systematic tensing and relaxation of muscle groups, starting with tensing the muscle group, depending. Each muscle group was tensed for 5–8 sec and relaxed for 5 sec. while breathing out. (15) Clients should be instructed to: Focus their attention on each muscle group in turn Tense the muscle group Maintain the tension for 5-7 seconds Release the tension Maintain the focus of attention on the muscle group for about 5-10 seconds and notice feelings of relaxation before moving on to the next muscle group 7 muscle group sequence Dominant hand, lower arm, and bicep Nondominant hand, lower arm, and bicep Facial muscles (combination of frowning, squinting the eyes, wrinkling the nose, and pulling the corners of the mouth back Neck and throat Chest, shoulders, upper back, and abdomen Dominant thigh, calf, and foot Non-dominant thigh, calf, and foot  
Intervention  Suryanamskar  Participants allotted to the suryanamskar group will be asked to perform 6-7 suryanamskar with controlled breathing in a period of 15 mins. Details  Participants with any musculoskeletal injuries preventing the participants from participation in last 6 months.
Any diagnostic cases of neurological conditions and cardiovascular condition will be excluded

·         Marathon running is a demanding endurance sport that places significant physiological stress on the body, often leading to the accumulation of metabolic byproducts such as lactate. (3)

 

·         Elevated blood lactate levels can impede performance and contribute to fatigue during prolonged exercise. As such, optimizing recovery strategies becomes crucial for enhancing marathon runners’ performance and overall well-being.(1)

 

·         Active recovery techniques have garnered attention for their potential to expedite the removal of lactate from the bloodstream, thereby facilitating quicker recovery and potentially improving subsequent performance.

 

·         These techniques encompass a range of dynamic movements and exercises performed at low intensity during the post-exercise period.

 

·         Previous research has explored various active recovery interventions, including light jogging, cycling, and dynamic stretching, and their effects on lactate clearance in athletes across different disciplines. However, the specific impact of these techniques on blood lactate levels in marathon runners remains an area of ongoing investigation.

 

·         Understanding the efficacy of active recovery strategies tailored to marathon runners is essential for developing evidence-based recommendations that optimize training adaptations and performance outcomes.
