Intervention / Comparator Agent
Type  Name  Details
Comparator Agent  Ambu AuraGain  Second generation supraglottic airway device. The Ambu AuraGain is a newer second generation supraglottic airway device launched in June 2014.It can be used for surgeries of 120-140 minutes. It is a single use SAD made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and is anatomically curved in shape of human airway and provide high oropharyngeal seal  pressure. In addition, it has an integrated gastric access, a bite block, and a wider airway tube, which provide an intubation conduit.
Intervention  I-gel  Second generation supraglottic airway device. I-gel is a single use non-inflatable second generation supraglottic airway device designed to avoid compression trauma and has separate gastric channel. It has soft, gel like, non-inflatable cuff. The tip of the distal non-inflatable cuff lies in the proximal opening of the oesophagus, isolating the oesophageal opening from laryngeal inlet. The seal created is sufficient for both spontaneously breathing patients and for positive pressure ventilation. It can be used for surgeries of 120-140 minutes.

Individual Participant Data (IPD) Sharing Statement

Will individual participant data (IPD) be shared publicly (including data dictionaries)?

Response - NO
Brief Summary   WE WILL START OUR STUDY AFTER WE GET CTRI APPROVAL. WE WANT TO COMPARE TWO SECOND GENERATION SUPRAGLOTTIC AIRWAY DEVICES IN ADULT PATIENTS BECAUSE THERE HAS BEEN MANY STUDIES DONE IN CHILDREN COMPARING I-GEL VERSUS AMBU AURAGAIN BUT VERY LESS DATA AVAILABEL FOR ADULT PATIENTS.
