Brief Summary
|
This study will be undertaken after obtaining the Institutional Ethical Committee clearance.Subject will be recruited based on inclusion and exclusion criteria.Participants will be first explained what procedure is to be done in detail with its advantages and disadvantages during pre-anesthetic assessment. Informed consent will be obtained from all the patients following which demographic details including age and sex, along with detailed medical history and other comorbid conditions will be noted. All inpatients belonging to ASA I and ASA II undergoing elective surgery under general anaesthesia in SVMCH&RC who fulfill the inclusion criteria will be enrolled in the study afterIEC approval. On the day of surgery, all monitors will be attached, an electrocardiogram, non invasive blood pressure(NIBP) and pulse oximetry(B125M patient monitor)will be placed on the index finger contralateral to the side of the blood pressure cuff.Pre induction values of perfusion index(PI),Heart rate(HR),systolic blood pressure(SBP) diastolic blood pressure(DBP) and mean arterial blood pressure(MAP) will be noted.Routine general anaesthesia steps will be followed as per institutional protocol.Perfusion index(PI),Heart rate(HR),systolic blood pressure(SBP) diastolic blood pressure(DBP) and mean arterial blood pressure(MAP)will be recorded at a timeline 1 minute,2minute,3 minute,5 minute following thiopentone induction and 1 minute, 2minute,5 minute,10 minute and 15 minute post intubation. All study parameters will be assesed by the primary investigator. |
