Brief Summary

Aim is to to determine the prevalence of sarcopenia using SARC-CALF SARC-F  Hand grip strength and identify the factors related among community dwelling geriatric population Sarcopenia is associated with a high risk of a wide range of adverse health outcomes.Physical inactivity malnutrition smoking  extreme sleep duration and diabetes are related to sarcopenia Community-based epidemiological studies are needed to better understand the predictors/factors related/causes of sarcopenia

Study design/type: community based cross sectional study / non experimental study

Sampling method: Multi stage random sampling method

Study setting: Administrative zones of Potheri village will be conveniently selected  henceforth multi-stage random sampling will be employed to identify household with older adults sample size is 805 outcome measures going to use are Hand held dynamometer (camry)  SARC–F questionnaire SARC –calf score Mechanical scale with stadiometer attached The findings of this study would definitely bring to light the burden of one of the serious adverse health conditions among the aging population Sarcopenia Furthermore, this study will also explore the possible predictors or factors associated with sarcopenia using the regression model
